Life (in the PNW) Update

Well...it's been a while since I have written anything in blog world. I took a long break from it, but here's a little bit of what we have been up to lately...

We have moved to Washington!

I had never even been to this state until we drove over the Bridge of the Gods, but so far it's far exceeding any expectation. :)

We live on an island (it's connected to the mainland) off the coast in between Seattle and British Columbia. It's an amazing little area full of farmland, mountains, and the bay.

In just a few weeks of living here we have already seen and done so much. The picture above is when we went sea kayaking on a whale watching tour on San Juan Island. We took the ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor and had an incredible day.

Here's a random assortment of life so far in the PNW...

On our drive from Reno we stopped several times in Oregon: Crater Lake, Bend, and Portland. We caught Crater on a foggy morning...but it was still beautiful.

We drove out to the Columbia River Gorge from Portland and it was also beautiful! It was a really pretty drive and worth going out of the way to see.

See what I mean?

On our first Sunday here we drove down to Seattle to see the Seahawks play! I have been a fan of Russell Wilson for a while, so it was fun to see them play in person. It was a great game to go to even if the Rams won.

Step into my office ;) I had my morning coffee and Bible class out on our porch this day. The view from our porch is incredible. Between mountains and saltwater, there's not really much more I could ask for!

Day trip to Stanley Park in Vancouver. Fall was in full swing and the weather was perfect! Canada was our 11th country to go to together in the last 3 years. There's so many more on our bucket list, but I am so thankful for the memories we have already made traveling the world.

Alice Bay from our back porch at high tide. So peaceful.

Vancouver trip #2 to see Melie's Caps play the Canucks! My first international sporting event and only my second hockey game...I went a few years ago with a friend to see the Preds play in Nashville, and I still don't completely understand the game but it's always a fun atmosphere. Mel is trying to recruit me to be a DC fan. We'll see ;)

And lastly, a beautiful day hike in North Cascades National Park. We are trying to not take for granted living in close proximity to so many national parks and going to see as many as we can.

My person. He gives me the life I have always wanted. I am so, so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities we have (and make!) to go and see and do. Life is what you make it. So despite the struggles and difficulties that life inevitably brings, we will continue to try to make it most of it that we can by living it to the absolute fullest. Complacency is overrated.

What can you do today to live life fuller? Just go for it. Life is short...and we are grateful for the ebb and flow of it all.

Here's to the next few months in Washington!!
