Playa del Carmen 2017

Last week we arrived back home from a rejuvenating trip south to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It was the perfect little getaway for relaxation & recharge.

And reading! I read 4 books this trip. Plus I've been studying Spanish so it was neat to be immersed in the language. One of my favorite things about traveling is experiencing different cultures and it's why I think everyone should travel.

We flew out on Tuesday morning from Huntsville, had a quick layover in Atlanta, and we were off to Cancun. From the airport we had a short ride down to PDC and checked into our all-inclusive resort. Here's some more pictures...

The view from our room. We had a hammock on the patio so I would spend nap time in the afternoon or my quiet time in the mornings out here.
Dinner Time. :)
The beach here was so relaxing! And the water pretty & clear blue.
Out and about after dinner exploring our resort.
Mi amor :)
For the most part, we relaxed by the pool and on the beach. One afternoon I went to the spa to get a massage and a facial. Listen, this place knew how to play spa! I'm serious that it was life-changing. It far exceeded any spa treatment I've received locally. The service this entire trip was exceptional.

On Friday, we did several different outdoor activities and then ended up in Tulum to see the Mayan ruins.

Zip-lining!

Exploring an underground cenote...

...an incredible experience.
Snorkeling partners. :) We have snorkeled several places including the Dominican and St. Maarten...but I think this was our favorite so far.
Exploring Mayan ruins in Tulum.
The beach at the ruins in Tulum was absolutely gorgeous!
Enjoying a cappuccino on our last Mexican night.

We did some more relaxing on our last full day there and then headed home on Sunday...and back to reality! But not for long.

A few days later we headed back out of town to Tyler, TX by way of Dallas and just got back home this past week. We are in town for a few days and then we have a family trip to the mountains. So stay tuned for more exciting traveling updates.

Life is too short to not travel. :)
