Eastern Caribbean 2017: Days 1-3

We went on vacation last week to the Caribbean and this week has been busy of getting back into our routines. Insert post-vacay depression face here! We did a cruise with Royal Caribbean on Oasis of the Seas with some of our family. Landon had been on cruises before, but it was my first. I really enjoyed it -- minus the motion sickness from the 30+ mph windy days! All in all, it was such a relaxing and memorable getaway...

BHM to MCO. We flew from Birmingham to Orlando then shuttled over to Port Canaveral where our ship was waiting for us! One of us looks thrilled and one doesn't. :)

After checking in and boarding, our staterooms weren't quite ready so we explored the ship for a while before we had to go to the safety drill. Once we finally got our luggage and our stateroom was ready, we unpacked and got ready for dinner This was us heading to dinner on Night 1.

Pretty much every night after dinner, we stopped at this little nook on our deck for a picture. I thought it made a cool-looking background. Landon reluctantly obliged. :) By the time this first day was over, I'm pretty sure my ice cream cone count was up to 5. Unlimited chocolate ice cream had to be one of the best features of this trip!

On Monday (Day 2), we ported in Nassau, the Bahamas. It was so pretty! I took this picture off my in-law's balcony. Atlantis is in the background.

We didn't do any excursions this day, but we decided to disembark and walk around Nassau for a little while. We did some window shopping and then found a cute and breezy little restaurant called Lukka Kairi which overlooked Nassau Harbor.

Trying to get a good picture before we got back on board the ship was pretty much impossible due to the wind. I wanted a picture of Landon and me with the world-famous Atlantis resort in the background. And this was the best we got...

My sister-in-law Priscilla and me in Nassau. So grateful God saw fit to put us in each other's story!

All the Taylor kids at dinner (We missed Zach and Krystal all week!). We ended Day 2 with a formal dinner. I loved ending every day with all of us (plus Wade and Donna) at the dinner table. I believe that life happens around the table, and it was fun to end every day sharing stories, laughs, and memories together.

After dinner on Night 3 at our little deck spot.

Day 3 was a day of solid cruising in order to reach our next destination. We didn't have much on the agenda except to relax and of course to eat, so I don't have many pictures from this day. We relaxed by the pool as much as we could (the wind was pretty rough this day too) and also enjoyed the whirlpool. I'm pretty sure this day was full of a lot of soft-serve ice cream and a lot of Sorrento's pizza! We also went to a show this night, then back to our stateroom to get ready for our next day: Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

So that was our first three days onboard. I'll post the rest of our trip soon. Stay tuned!
